To effectively manage a Counter-Strike 2 server, you need to understand the console commands (CVARs). Whether you are setting up a competitive match or a practice environment, these commands are essential.
Setting Up RCON
Before executing server commands from your client, you must authenticate. Type this into your developer console:
rcon_password "your_rcon_password"
General Server Management
rcon status- View server status and connected players.rcon kick [name/userid]- Kick a player from the server.rcon banid [minutes] [userid]- Ban a player by SteamID. (0 minutes = permanent).rcon changelevel [mapname]- Change the map (e.g.,changelevel de_dust2).
Competitive Match Settings
To ensure tournament-ready settings, execute the default competitive config:
