Setting Up an ARK: Survival Ascended Crossplay Server
Enable cross-platform play on your ARK: Survival Ascended server to allow Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation players to join.
ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) introduces native cross-platform support, allowing your friends on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation to all play together on the same dedicated server.
1. Command Line Arguments
To enable crossplay, you need to add a specific argument to your server's startup line. In the GameSphere dashboard, go to the Startup Settings tab.
Find the Additional Arguments field and add the following:
-crossplay
2. Mod Compatibility
Crossplay introduces challenges with mods. If you are hosting a crossplay server, you must ensure that every mod you install is certified for cross-platform use via CurseForge. PC-only mods will prevent console players from joining your server.
To install crossplay-compatible mods:
- Find the Mod ID on the CurseForge ASA page.
- In your server settings, add the IDs to the
ActiveMods=line in yourGameUserSettings.ini.
3. BattlEye Anti-Cheat
Console players generally do not use BattlEye. If your server strictly requires BattlEye (-UseBattlEye), some console players may encounter connection issues. If you run a private server for friends, consider disabling BattlEye by removing that argument from the startup line.
