Adding Sub-Users & Managing Permissions
Need help managing your server? Learn how to safely grant friends or co-owners access to the control panel without giving them your password.
Running a successful community is rarely a one-person job. You may have developers who need FTP access or moderators who need to view the live console. Never share your account password. Instead, use the Sub-User system.
How to Invite a Sub-User
- In your server control panel, navigate to the Users tab.
- Click Create New User.
- Enter the email address of your developer/admin. (Note: They must have a registered GameSphere account with that email.)
Configuring Granular Permissions
The beauty of the Sub-User system is granular control. You can check specific boxes to grant exact permissions:
- Control: Allow them to Start, Stop, or Restart the server.
- Console: Allow them to view live logs and send commands (Great for moderators).
- File Management: Allow them to read, write, upload, or delete files (Crucial for developers, but use with caution).
- Databases: Allow them to view or reset the MySQL database passwords.
- Backups: Allow them to create or restore backups.
Once you hit save, the server will instantly appear in their dashboard with only the permissions you granted. You can revoke their access at any time with a single click.
